Kids helping kids

Lucien is 9 years old and wants to help kids dealing with cancer.

He came up with the idea for the Spirit of Community Ride when he was asked to organise a community leadership event as part of his training with Spirit Taekwondo in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

What is the Spirit Community Ride?

100 riders

17kms each around Narrabeen Lake in Sydney's Northern Beaches

Collectively these kids will ride the equivalent of Sydney to Townsville.

Be Fit, Be Healthy, Be Happy

Along the way, each team will have to complete a Be Fit, Be Healthy, Be Happy challenge. Think push ups, listing healthy foods and making your team mates laugh. It's going to be such a fun day.

Riding to help kids dealing with cancer

The goal: collectively ride 2000km
100 riders (age 8 – 14)
Each rider to complete up to 2 laps = 17km
Each rider will complete a TDC Be Fit Be Healthy Be happy challenge each lap

A message from Lucien

"I got the idea for the Community Spirit Ride when I volunteered for Tour de Cure and I saw kids with cancer. It made me very sad. I don't want kids to lose their parents or parents to lose their kids. It's why I decided to fundraise for Tour de Cure."

*Please note that this is not a Tour de Cure organised event

An amazing and dedicated team of kids

Spotlight on Team Member - Khyla Meighan

In 2015 I was diagnosed with Leukaemia and I'm now in remission.I was in hospital for 6 months having treatment so I understand how it feels to go through this and how hard it can be. It's a part of my life I will never forget and now I want to help other kids and families deal with cancer and give them the support they need.
