? Supporting people & communities – Tour de Cure

Cancer affects our loved ones

It's easy to forget that behind the statistics, there are ordinary people whose lives have been disrupted by this terrible disease.

Each person is unique, with their own story and their own perspective. What they have in common is the terrible physical, emotional and financial toll that cancer brings to their families and the ripple effect it has on their families and communities.

Why support matters

Nobody should have to go through cancer alone. We fund support projects that:

    • Connect people living with cancer, helping them to share experiences and build supportive relationships
    • Support people through the impact of diagnosis, giving them strategies to cope
    • Offer practical help through treatment and beyond
    • Provide financial support and assistance to those experiencing hardship
    • Bring respite to families and caregivers
    • Create hope in the face of this terrible disease

Reaching out to regional communities

Cancer can be an isolating experience - particularly for people living in regional communities, where access to care and support can be incredibly limited. On every tour, we donate $10,000 to local cancer support projects and hold community dinners, so our riders and support crew can meet local people and hear first-hand why their support is so important.

Together we're helping to foster a culture of kindness for anyone touched by cancer.

Making a difference to families touched by cancer

Travelling long distances to hospital can add to the burden a cancer diagnosis brings to families, particularly in regional areas. We are determined to change this. We provide funds to help assist families with transport costs and other day-to-day expenses. We also help to fund respite care and holidays, so that the whole family has an opportunity to unwind, reconnect, laugh and recharge.
