PROJECT TYPE Support
In Australia 3200 people are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year. By galvanising this group together, we create a single pathway to ensure every Australian affected by pancreatic cancer can gain instant support, guidance and care. In addition, by unifying these patients, their carer’s and healthcare professionals, we will be creating a unified body who can advocate for change and explain their unique challenged to relevant stakeholders. The intention is for the nurse to help not just those diagnosed with the disease but their carers as well. The service will be run virtually and will help patients wherever they are across Australia. A major aim of this project is to reduce the inequity of services in the rural and regional setting by providing support to these patients over the phone. As demand for this service increases we will increase capacity as required.
