Targeting the bone marrow microenvironment of high-risk childhood leukaemias
This project aims to evaluate the therapeutic potential of zoledronic acid as an adjuvant therapy to standard chemotherapy in children with leukaemia. The aim of this project is to determine the effectiveness of ZA as an additional therapy in patient derived xenograft models (PDXs) of leukaemia which are considered to best mimic disease in humans. The positive outcomes from this project can be directly translated into clinical trials, which will provide direct benefit to children with leukaemia in Australia.
