COVID-19 and our upcoming tours

We are all very aware of the scale and severity of the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact it is having globally and in Australia. We will do everything we can to help to minimise the spread of this virus. Our primary consideration will always be for the people involved – our staff, those in voluntary roles, the communities through which we ride, walk and dine in our efforts to raise money to cure cancer.

We have therefore decided to postpone our 2020 Signature Tour until Thursday October 8th - Friday October 16th 2020.

Our SA Discovery Tour scheduled for May will also be postponed to a future date. We will assess our approach to later Tour de Cure events in good time and will communicate our intentions clearly. We will also continue to work with our corporate partners to plan for and manage their events.

We know that cancer will not be taking a break, so neither will we. Our fundraising activities continue, as does our disbursement of funds to areas that need them most – to the tireless researchers who depend on us to fund their work, to the organisations providing critical support to those most in need, and to the ongoing efforts to raise awareness and prevent cancer.

You’ll recall that Tour de Cure has to date funded cancer research resulting in 29 peer-reviewed ‘scientific breakthroughs’. You may not be aware that Tour de Cure is currently supporting 82 ongoing research efforts, each one of them a potential breakthrough or contributor to a breakthrough. Now, more than ever, the efforts of our Tour de Cure family are making a difference. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support in these challenging times and we look forward to continuing and accelerating the amazing work being done.
