High levels of the protein, 'brain and acute leukaemia, cytoplasmic' (BAALC) is present in Leukaemia cells and is linked with aggressive cancer and resistance to chemotherapy. Dr Skelding’s research will investigate the role of BAALC in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) and its potential as a target for new cancer therapies.
