Potential Use of Chronic Disease Medicines for Cancer Chemoprevention

"The aim of this project is to investigate whether use of the above common chronic disease medications is associated with a reduced risk of developing: 1) endometrial cancer; 2) thyroid cancer; or 3) pancreas cancer... If we find that existing medications with well-established safety profiles are associated with reduced cancer risk, this could result in significant health and economic benefits and our findings may have the potential to inform prescribing choices for women from the general population needing treatment for other chronic diseases."
