Why I want to help cure cancer

My dad is the one who taught me how to ride a bike. We spent countless evenings after school, with him pushing me along and encouraging me. He also put me on a pair of skis when I was 2 and a half years old. He taught me how to play tennis and used to run with me. It's fair to say he instilled within me a passion for keeping fit and active. He has for the past three years been battling cancer and this ride is for him. Our family has battled many challenges, including being refuges and moving countries, but this one seems the toughest of all. Despite the setback, dad is keeping upbeat and trying to stay positive. His strength and attitude is what motivates me to keep pushing and challenging myself. Participating in Tour de Cure is a small but significant contribution I can make, to make this world cancer free.

UPDATE - my father has lost his battle with cancer on 19/10/2017

This ride has now taken on a new meaning.

> See how hard I am training!
