Tour de Cure events are all about inclusion and creating a community of people who are passionate about one thing: curing cancer!
Across our events we have riders participate at all levels of cycling competency, and each one brings with them a personal commitment to help raise money to cure cancer. So, if you’ve participated in one of our events before, or if this is your first time, we welcome you to join us.
Our full Signature Tour in 2019 is a nine-day cycling event in May. However, we recognise that not everyone can participate on a full Signature Tour, and in 2019 we welcome participants in the VIC Stage Ride over two-days.
The Ride will cater to both beginner/intermediate and advance riders. So get on board and register now! We can't wait to have you on-board!
VIC Stage Challenge Ride - for intermediate to advance riders
This challenging stage ride is for the time poor intermediate to advance rider who wants to make a difference and end cancer; but can only spare a few days.
This amazing experience will have you integrate into the community of riders participating in the 9-day Signature Tour. You will be a member of one of our teams, training with the full-tour riders prior to the tour (in stage designed routes) drinking coffee with the team and enjoying the company of amazing and inspiring people in the lead up to and during tour.
This epic ride is designed for the rider that is training and riding up to 250km per week and can maintain an average speed of 27 to 28km/h in a peloton. If you have a few years of riding in your legs, this is the challenge for you!
Accommodation and meals are included (see details below)....your only problem is you won't want to go home!
VIC Stage Intermediate Ride - for beginner to intermediate riders
If you're juggling work and family commitments, but are driven to challenge yourself, and become part of an exceptional community of people committed to ending cancer - this is the perfect ride for you!
You may not have a lot of bike riding experience, but you're committed to joining our passionate rider community to help you get ready for the ride. We promise you'll be a little fitter by the end of tour, and bursting with a thirst for more!
The two-day ride is designed for a rider that could train and ride up to 150-200km per week, and can manage an average speed of 23-25km/h riding in a peloton. But don't worry, that is very achievable with 2-3 months of training and we are here to get you ready!
We understand that there are some big rides on some days and we are there to support you. We concentrate on smiles rather than miles and will dial down the pace. There will be plenty of stops to refuel and there are plenty of other riders with loads of experience in the peloton to ensure you have as brilliant time and gain valuable riding insights.
We will provide bus support if needed on certain parts of the course, and that is absolutely ok! Might give you more time to bond with your fellow riders. We are here to help you get to your best, and are committed to supporting you on your riding journey.
Just like the challenge option, you will integrate into the community of riders participating in the 9-day Signature Tour. You will be a member of one of our teams, training with the full-tour riders prior to the tour (in stage designed routes) drinking coffee with the team and enjoying the company of amazing and inspiring people in the lead up to and during tour. Accommodation and meals are also included (see details below).
